In 2008, I had this idea for a garden using cardboard barrels. Here is a link to the old site. The con was that the irrigation was WAY too complicated. The barrels lasted forever, in fact most of them were still there when I cleared them away to begin the new, permanent raised beds. The metal rings that were left behind from the barrels that did disintegrate had to be dug up; it was kinda like archaeology uncovering them.

The barrel garden site was neither my first website nor my first garden, but it was by first website about a garden. It seems a little bit overwrought now, but maybe that is my style! Feel free to comment!!
