April 11, 2011. I decided that I needed an arch for the cherry tomatoes and cucumbers to grow upon. For some reason, I decided that PVC pipe (reinforced with rebar) would make a great arch. As you can see from the pictures, I was mistaken.
The rebar did not prevent the arch from sagging. I have a stand of bamboo, so I tried to reinforce the reinforcement with that.
Okay, the PVC/Bamboo Arch is a failure, at least as far as appearance goes. But the cherry tomatoes and cucumbers don't know for appearance, and are growing up it fine. I will try something better next year.

In this picture, you can see that there has occurred a great weed wacking in the backyard, and we have cleared out the center part of the garden in preparation for the brick floor installation.
